Cool. They have electric mixers in the cookhouse, right? I feel like those are a little outside the general aesthetic here, but they're so useful!

Mmm. Demons and so on. I know there's not much to be done, but I figure it's worth knowing. 'Nephilim' is a pretty cool word though, you gotta admit.

I can respect that there's a combination of a certain aesthetic and a certain disregard for anachronism. Running water and electricity are just too good to ignore.

Holdover from Portland, maybe. I... there's lots I don't remember but I'm pretty sure those angels and that whole thing only resembled Christianity in certain lights and at certain times.

Ahhh, this and that.

A lot of people have just bad memories there. And I have bad memories, sure, but, hah, I think I know why I was an angel now. Even though you'd think I'd have been a werebeast.

Ha. Wish I could say the same, although I can't say it didn't help me out quite a bit.

Call me a goody two-shoes but it's kinda nice to look back and know I was aligned with the faction least inclined to screw everyone over, that in fact did want to help as a general rule.

Right? How often does that happen? Even if it's not like we could just sweep in and fix things, it's all noble and shit.

Also now my view of what is weird is completely broken because once you've been this amorphous mass of wings and eyes nothing is that strange, apparently.

True, true.... I didn't have it nearly as bad, but when yer mostly just light that happens ta be mostly human shaped, well, who knows.

...but then, it was already a bit broken after bein' in the carnival for so long.

Haha, I mean, before I showed up I turned into a bird and then someone who's also this sort of giant crow wolf taught me how to make new bodies, so like, I had a dent, there! But on the other hand I grew up without knowing any of that stuff was happening and so, I knew it was weird. I signed up here and had like a couple days to be blase about ears and be weirded out by all the colors before... all that.

I only sorta knew strange stuff happened... but I half chalked it up ta rich people gettin' drunk and smokin'. I mean, sometimes that's as good an explanation as any, yeah?

Hey that's legit. Where I'm from you'd get a few rich people surgically trying to make themselves look like dragon or cats. Because that's a great use for money I guess.

Ha.... and how did that work out for them?

They end up looking mildly creepy at best, I guess? This is good old fashioned getting cut open and rearranged or having new things stuck into the holes.
